Intellectual Property (IP)

Ambos NBGO has a full service IP practice that advises on all types of intellectual property and related issues including patents, copyright, trademarks, trade secrets, and design rights.

Our lawyers handle both litigation/arbitration and licensing and other commercial/contract exploitation-related matters for each of these rights categories, as we believe that this broader perspective allows us to better serve our technology clients.

Intellectual Property Services

We help clients obtain and protect their IP through prosecuting and managing trademark, design and domain name portfolios and engaging in customs surveillance to confirm that these rights are being respected.

We assist our clients in exploiting their IP through licensing and distribution agreements, other technology transfer agreements, R&D partnerships, and plant variety agreements (among other things).  We also advise on competition law and other regulatory aspects of intellectual property exploitation.

When things go wrong we handle domestic and pan-European IP litigations related to patents, copyrights and trademarks, including actions on the merits, interlocutory injunctions and seizures before judgment, etc.

We also have extensive experience in the mediation and arbitration of licensing agreements and other IP-related disputes before CEPINA (Belgian Centre for Mediation and Arbitration), the Netherlands Arbitration Institute, the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation) arbitration and mediation centre, ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), LCIA (London Court of International Arbitration), and the ICDR (International Centre for Dispute Resolution).
