Ambos successfully advises Belmoney Transfert on its registration as a fully licensed payment institution

Belmoney Transfert successfully obtained its license from the National Bank of Belgium as a fully licensed, PSD2 compliant, Belgian payment institution.

The law of 11 March 2018 transposing the revised European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) into Belgian law implicated some important changes and new requirements to payment service providers (PSPs). Already licensed Belgian payment institutions (PIs) could only retain their existing license and grandfather into this new regime if they could successfully demonstrate to the National Bank of Belgium, which exercises prudential supervision over PSPs, that they effectively meet the new standards imposed by PSD2.

Ambos advised Belmoney Transfert on the grandfathering procedure. The partner in charge was Jens Van Hecke (Corporate, Brussels).
