Philippe Van Dijck

Bio

Philippe Van Dijck, partner, is an experienced lawyer, specialized in maritime, transport and commercial law. He is advising national and international clients in the shipping and commercial industry.  

His main area of expertise is maritime shipping law and other transport related issues. His practice ranges from pre-litigation advice and settlement negotiations to representation before different Belgian courts and arbitral tribunals.

In addition to litigation, Philippe also advises clients on a regular basis on complex international commercial issues, shipping due diligence projects and other port related issues. Philippe also focuses on the drafting and negotiating of different commercial contracts. Next to this, Philippe advises and supports clients on specific GDPR projects.

Philippe completed his Master of Law at University of Antwerp (2009) before obtaining an LLM Degree in International Commercial Maritime Law (2010) from Swansea University (UK). After his training he worked for a few months in an international shipping law firm in London (2014). Most recently he obtained a special master degree in Environmental law (2016).

Philippe is recommended by Legal 500 Europe as an associate to watch for Shipping and Commercial Law.

Philippe is a lecturer at the IMCS Academy and at VDAB Maritime Training Centre Zeebrugge.
